(with photos) AMMAN, Jan 13 (KUNA) -- Jordanian Minister of Finance Dr. Hamad Al-Kasasbeh said Tuesday that the Arab Economic Summit, to be held in Kuwait on January 19-20, was a genuine opportunity to serve the public interest of the Arab nations.
Al-Kasasbeh told KUNA that the summit cames at a time when the world was suffering from the global economic recession.
He hoped the summit would generate resolutions that boost joint Arab cooperation on all levels.
The minister underscored the importance of developing inter-Arab trade and hoped the summit would come out with solutions that would develop the economy and remove obstacles standing in the way of the economic integration through encouraging investments, Arab industries, and opening the Arab markets.
He stressed the important role of technology and establishing a database to make economic development a reality and boost Arab cooperation, and he praised the role model of the Gulf states. (end) nas.mar KUNA 131403 Jan 09NNNN
