UAE official lauds Kuwait''s long history of contributions to Arab world

(with photos) ABU DHABI, Jan 13 (KUNA) -- UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Anwar Gargash lauded Kuwait for hosting the Arab Economic Summit, set for January 19-20.
In remarks to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the official said Arab summits always tackled major issues, and dealt with different conflicts, namely the humanitarian crisis of the Palestinian people are suffering in Gaza Strip.
He expressed his hope that the upcoming summit would adopt key economic projects that would boost commercial exchange and facilitate communication and transportation.
Gargash said that Arab economic cooperation could not be achieved in a single summit.
"Holding the summit in a country like Kuwait will contribute in its success, " he added.
The official pointed out that commercial exchange among the GCC states increased, thanks to constant cooperation, coordination and frequent meetings that focused on the economic situation.(end) bmj.sab KUNA 131324 Jan 09NNNN
