KUNA issues book on Arab Economic Summit

(With photos) KUWAIT, Jan 12 (KUNA) -- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) issued a book entitled "Kuwait Summit and Arab Ambition" on the Arab Economic Summit to be held here on January 19-20.
Several Kuwaiti and Arab academics and officials, in addition to researchers at KUNA's information and research center, participated in writing the 162-page book.
The book consists of five studies that focus on the importance of boosting Arab cooperation to achieve economic integration.
In the introduction, Information Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah expresses his pride that Kuwait will host the first Arab economic summit after the initiative of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Meanwhile, KUNA Chairman and Director General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Sabah says in the book the summit will be held amid great challenges like unemployment, poverty, the food crisis, and education and health problems.
He stresses that the summit is an integrated Arab project towards change, reform, and preparing a development strategy.
The first study, written by Advisor at the Amiri Diwan Dr. Yousef Al-Ibrahim, discusses the future of Arab economy; the second, written by Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League for Economic Affairs Dr. Mohammad Al-Tuwaijri, discusses economic and social development and Arab economic relations; while the third, which is written by Kuwait University's Dr. Riyadh Al-Faras, discusses Arab economic integration.
The forth study focuses on the contribution of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) in joint Arab work; while the fifth discussed the concerns of the Arab people. (end) adf.ris KUNA 121219 Jan 09NNNN
