Arab summit important for eco integration -- ambassadors

By Mohammad Al-Enizi KUWAIT, Jan 11 (KUNA) -- The Arab Economic Summit, to be held Kuwait on January 19-20, will be important for achieving economic integration among Arab countries, Arab ambassadors said here Sunday.
Egypt's Ambassador to Kuwait Tahir Farahat said the summit would be a historic event and a turning point for joint Arab work as it would discuss issues related to the daily life of people like food security, infrastructure, and transportation.
He said the summit would have a significant role in the development of Arab societies, hoping it would discuss social issues like education, unemployment, and immigration.
In the meantime, Syria's Ambassador to Kuwait Ali Abdulkareem expressed his optimism of the outcome of the upcoming summit.
He emphasized the importance of discussing the political situation in the Middle East, especially the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, in the event and called Arab countries to avoid conflicts and take a united stance.
