RABAT, Jan 8 (KUNA) -- A Moroccan businessman hoped here Thursday that the planned Arab economic summit in Kuwait on January 19-20 would be a qualitative shift in the revamping of the Arab economic sector.
The summit, which comes at a very critical time, voiced Kuwait's wise vision targeting welfare and prosperity in all Arab countries, al-Muati Dakir told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
The summit will mainly mull over how to stave off the negative reflections of the international financial turmoil on Arab economies, he said.
He also wished that the Arab economic gathering in Kuwait would constitute a genuine launching point for improving the Arab housing sector, believing that Arab people cannot find suitable houses due to speculations in property.
Concerning pan-Arab trade, Dakir called on Arab countries to give more legal, administrative and legislative flexibility with a view to reinforcing and boosting pan-Arab trade cooperation.
He also urged the opening of new trade markets between Morocco and other Arab countries, including Gulf ones.
The Arab businessman hoped that the summit would come up with significant resolutions and recommendations that could lead to overhauling the economic sector, improving the social conditions of Arab citizens and resolving housing problems in the Arab world. (end) sf.mt KUNA 081817 Jan 09NNNN
