Arab economic summit opportunity to discuss facing global crisis -- expert

(with photos) RABAT, Jan 5 (KUNA) -- A prominent political figure says the upcoming Arab economic summit will be an opportunity to discuss plans for coping with effects of the world financial crisis.
Muhannad Al-Onsor, the former minister of agriculture and rural development, said in remarks to KUNA that Arab nations aspire that the summitteers discuss problems related to backwardness, adding that it would be an opportunity to discuss requirements for sustainable development in the Arab world.
The summit is expected to create new incentives for Arab investments, particularly means of ensuring the private enterprises.
He praised Kuwaiti investments in Morocco, saying "they have greatly cemented the infrastructure," and contributed in the development of the agricultural, real-estate, tourist and communication sectors.
The expert urged Arab governments to take action to protect their economies against effects of the global crisis, stressing that the politicians in the Arab world should be active at the economic and investment levels.
