Upcoming Arab summit result of HH the Amir''s deep insight -- Sheikh Fahad Al-Ali

KUWAIT, Jan 5 (KUNA) -- President of the Federation of Private Arab Channels Sheikh Fahd Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah said here on Monday that the Arab economic summit in Kuwait is a result of deep insight and vision of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on matters that concern the Arab world.
Sheikh Fahad said in an interview with Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the Arab economic summit to be hosted by the State of Kuwait on January 19-20 that HH the Amir knows well the impact of economy on policy between states and that if economic conditions are well handled, then, the political situation will improve a lot. "Therefore, this summit is a non-traditional one that came as a result of a noble Amiri desire that has been responsive to all.
Asked about the goals to be sought by the summit in light of the current circumstances of the global financial crisis, Sheikh Fahd said a proper preparation for the summit was a must prior to the eruption of the current crisis, adding that there would be various topics on the agenda of the upcoming summit which "we hope appropriate decisions be taken on them for the sake of Arab public interest." Sheikh Fahad expressed his optimism that a number of projects see the light such as the Arab electricity grid and the land railway project.
And on the need for Arab food security, given the fact that the Arab countries are divided into states funding projects, such as the Gulf States and recipient ones which are fertile in agricultural projects, such as Egypt and Sudan, Sheikh Fahd said that this matter was a dream to be achieved at the level of the Arab world for a long time since there is an imperative need of cooperation of everyone, whether those countries having land and water or the funding together to achieve a basket of food sufficient for all, expressing hope this trend be among the major interests for this summit.
Turning to the problem of unemployment, he said that the Arab unemployment problem is among the main goals of the upcoming summit through focusing on giant development projects and economic issues that can re-activate the Arab economic action and therefore, it opens new and diversified job opportunities that would reduce the level of Arab unemployment.
