Coordinator of the Arab economic summit Ambassador Mirvat Al-Talawi in remarks to KUNA called Arab nations to unite efforts for the success of the summit, to be held in Kuwait on January 19 and 20.
She praised the Kuwaiti initiative and call for such summit, pointing out that an Arab League delegation visited the Gulf state to follow up on preparations, especially those to do with administration, organization, media, security, and protocol.
She said that Arab finance ministers and representatives of central banks will meet on January 14, while senior officials in the economic and social council will meet on January 15. On January 17 and 18, Arab foreign, finance, and economy ministers will also hold a meeting, she added.
The official stressed that the summit will be held as scheduled and that Arab officials will issue decisions on Palestine and rebuilding Gaza. There was already an item on assistance to less developed states and states suffering instability on the agenda, even before the recent escalations in Gaza, she said.(end) kz.ris KUNA 050935 Jan 09NNNN
