Kuwaiti private sector awaiting Arab economic summit resolutions

KUWAIT, Jan 4 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti companies are awaiting support from the upcoming Arab economic summit to help the private sector execute joint projects with other Arab companies.
Deputy Chairman of Al-Safat investment company Mohammad Al-Naqi said he hopes the Kuwaiti economy would benefit from the summit, to be held here on January 19-20, by activating joint Arab action and providing more investment opportunities.
He also strongly called for removing obstacles facing the private sector.
Meanwhile, Chairman and Managing Director of the Financial Group of Kuwait Hussein Al-Attal said the Kuwaiti private sector hopes the summit would find solutions for the negative effects of the international economic crisis.
He called for learning from the experiences of economic blocs in Europe and Southeast Asia, saying they proved success in this regard over the last decade.
For his part, Chairman and Managing Director of Ajaal international company for real estate development Abdulaziz Al-Rabah emphasized the importance of holding such summit.
Kuwaiti companies, which are involved in projects all over the world, need more support and must benefit from the upcoming summit, he stressed.
Amid the international economic crisis, companies must work together to be able to execute projects and boost the Arab private sector, Al-Rabah also noted.
