Arab eco summit meets Jordan''s vision for integration -- minister

(with photos) AMMAN, Jan 4 (KUNA) -- The Arab Economic Summit, set to be held in Kuwait on January 19-20, coincides with the Jordanian government's vision for greater Arab economic cooperation toward achieving integration, said Minister of Commerce and Industry Amer Al-Hadidi on Sunday.
Speaking to KUNA, he said the summit derived added importance from its critical timing, given the current economic meltdown that the world was witnessing, which he said required the consolidation of efforts if it was to be tackled efficiently.
He hoped that the summit would succeed in placing mechanisms that boosted inter-Arab trade and investments.
The minister noted that among the important issues on the summit's agenda are the Arab railways and electricity networks, food and security, and the Arab customs union.(end) ab.ema KUNA 040957 Jan 09NNNN
