By Mustapha Al-Soufi (With photos) RABAT, Jan 1 (KUNA) -- The Arab Economy summit to be hosted by Kuwait on January 19-20 will be a major step toward establishing economic diplomacy in the Arab world, a Moroccan media activist said on Thursday.
The summit is a profound Kuwaiti visionary pact to deal with Arab social, development, and economic affairs amid universal transformations, the Head of the Moroccan Society for Friendship and Cooperation among Continents Ahmed Al-Samani told KUNA.
Al-Samani noted that the summit is also a viable opportunity to energize social work and real contribution to sustainable development in the world.
The Moroccan official stressed on importance of finding solutions to problems affecting Arab economic development, namely combating poverty, illiteracy and increasing Arab per capita income.
He also said the summit is an opportunity to tackle educational issues and discuss plans for establishing small economic projects, "which has a social flavor to it," calling for the same time for encouraging youths to contribute in developing economies.
Among other topics, immigration is one of the social problems to be addressed by the summiteers, he added. (end) sf.mb KUNA 011640 Jan 09NNNN
