DAMASCUS, Dec 21 (KUNA) -- Syrian deputy foreign minister Faisal Meqdad held talks Sunday with visiting head of Kuwait foreign ministry economic department Sheikh Ali Khaled Al-Sabah on preparations for the Arab economic and social development summit, due in Kuwait next month.
Meqdad voiced relief for the level of relations between Syria and Kuwait, and affirmed that Damascus would exert every possible effort to bring about success to the January 19-20 summit, a foreign ministry statement said.
Sheikh Ali, said the statement, appreciated Syria's role at all levels and thanked Damascus for its support for the summit.
Sheikh Ali and the delegation accompanying him also held meetings with officials in the ministries of finance and economy all dealing with preparations for the summit. (pickup previous) ek.bs KUNA 220052 Dec 08NNNN
