CAIRO, Dec 3 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Finance Minister Mustafa Al-Shimali arrived in Cairo, Egypt, on Wednesday to attend meetings of Arab League bodies to prepare for the Arab Economic Summit to be held in Kuwait in January 2009.
Al-Shimali will be participating in a preparatorty meeting for the summit as well as chairing an extraordinary meeting of the Economic and Social Council of the Arab League at the ministerial level, which will also finalize preparations for the January 19-20 summit.
Talking to reporters after his arrival, Al-Shimali said that the Economic and Social Council meeting, to be held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo on Thursday, will add the final touches of the Kuwait Economic Summit.
The results of the Council meeting will be referred to the Arab foreign ministers for approval.
Receiving the minister was Kuwaiti Ambassador to Egypt Rasheed Al-Hamad and permanent Kuwaiti envoy to the Arab League Abdullah Al-Mansour. (end) ams.mab.sd KUNA 032007 Dec 08NNNN
