Arab summit preparatory cmte kicks off meeting

 (with photos) CAIRO, Nov 20 (KUNA) -- The meeting of the ministerial preparatory committee for the Arab Economic Summit, to be hosted by Kuwait on January 19-20, kicked off here on Thursday.
The meeting is headed by Kuwaiti Finance Minister Mustafa Al-Shimali and is attended by representatives of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Qatar, Tunisia, and the Arab League.
The total number of proposals presented to be submitted to the summit reached 442 so far; 77 of which on energy, 62 on trade, 40 on investment, 36 on transport, 30 on financing, 30 on food and water security, 25 on combating unemployment and developing human resources, 17 on environment and climate change and 15 on education and scientific research.
Moreover, 13 projects on facilitations provided for Arab businessmen to work without a guarantor in Arab countries are to be presented to the summit, in addition to 12 projects on Arab economic and social integration, 11 on social development, 10 on encouragement of the private sector, nine for the summit, eight for communications and finally eight projects on industrial development.
