(with photos) CARIO, Oct 28 (KUNA) -- Member of the Supreme Arab Economic Summit Preparatory Committee Ambassador Sheikh Ali Al-Khalid Al-Jaber Al-Sabah held a meeting with Coordinator General of the Summit Ambassador Mirfet Al-Tilawi and discussed the summit agenda.
Ambassador Sheikh Ali Al-Khalid, Head of the Economic Department in the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry, told KUNA that the meeting included discussions on the Kuwait Declaration, which includes several economic issues of agriculture, transport, water, industry, and infrastructure.
The meeting also dealt with forums to be held on the sidelines of the summit, in addition to discussion groups on the Arab economy issues, he added.
Ambassador Sheikh Ali Al-Khalid said that the Arab League Secretary General Amre Moussa is scheduled to visit Kuwait today to participate in a meeting of Arab financial institutions.
He also stressed that the Economic Summit is of great significance as it deals with social and development issues in the Arab World, and aims at achieving comprehensive social development in the region.
Egypt-Kuwait cooperation in this regard is ongoing, Sheikh Ali affirmed, stressing on the importance of coming out with resolutions that are beneficial to all participating countries.
On the other hand, Sheikh Ali Al-Khalid met with Egypt's permanent representative to the Arab League Ambassador Hazim Khairat, within the framework of consultations and coordination between Kuwait and Egypt.
Ambassador Khairat expressed satisfaction with the preparations for the summit, due in Kuwait January 19-20.
The Kuwaiti preparations included forming a supreme committee for the summit, headed by Deputy Premier Faisal Al-Hajji, and branch committees for protocol, media, security, and financial arrangements and affairs.(end) kz.asa KUNA 281058 Oct 08NNNN
