CAIRO, Oct 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwait is ready to host the Arab economic summit due January 19-20, 2009 along with other forums on January 17-18, Sheikha Hessa Abdullah Al-Sabah, chairperson of the Arab businesswomen council said Monday.
The remark came in a press release after participation in the Arab Businessmen meeting that wrapped up late Sunday in preparation for the Arab economic development summit.
Arab businessmen and women, private sectors, and commerce chambers across the Arab world are taking part in the upcoming summit to discuss several issues, namely the world financial crisis and its impact on Arab economies.
She said that tackling poverty and unemployment will top the agenda along with promoting joint Arab development projects such as establishing railways and open boarders.
"We can not separate politics from the economy, as both go hand-in-hand in developing the Arab nations," Sheikha Hessa added.
The Kuwaiti official further noted that Kuwait is going to host several meetings soon, namely for Arab commerce chambers November 11-12, 2008.(end) mfm.rg.sab KUNA 271413 Oct 08NNNN
