Arab Socio-economic summit aims at attracting private sector - Telawi

CAIRO, Sept 21 (KUNA) -- Mervat Telawi, coordinator general of the Arab socio-economic summit, due in Kuwait on January 19-20, said Sunday the high-level meeting aimed at attracting participation of private sector as well as bringing about inter-Arab solidarity.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting with Sheikh Yahya bin Laden and a delegation from Engineering Dar Group, Telawi said they have discussed ongoing preparations for the summit.
They also talked about progress of a project to link Arab countries through networks of highways, she said, with information still needed to be gathered about movement of vehicles, average of car accidents, highways and links to airports and ports.
Telawi urged the Engineering Dar Group to prepare a study about the implementation of the networks of highways to be submitted to the Arab ministers of transportation in their October 28 meeting. (end) bna.bs KUNA 212210 Sep 08NNNN
