Artifact museum to be constructed in historical city of Rashid, Egypt

CAIRO, Aug 8 (KUNA) -- A national artifact museum is planned for construction in the historical city of Rashid, located in the governorate of Beheira, said Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni.
Hosni told the press that reconstruction efforts at Rashid city reached about EGP 40 million.
He also revealed the construction of the museum cost about EGP 4 million.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of the higher council for historical artifacts Dr. Zahi Hawaz said that reconstructions began in 2002, adding that restoration of historical areas in Rashid city would take an additional three years from now. EGP One = USD 0.188422.
Rashid city is located in the northern coastal governorate of Beheira. Beheira is also one of the largest governorates in Egypt, consisting of 14 cities and it is famous for industries such as cotton, chemicals, carpets, and electricity.
