KABUL, July 16 (KUNA) -- The US-led coalition troops said they killed
several Taliban militants in a joint operation with Afghan security forces in
southern part of the country.
The fighting erupted when Taliban militants attacked a joint patrol of the
Afghan and coalition troops in Shah Walikot district of Kandahar province,
said a military statement on Wednesday.
It said the coalition aircraft also destroyed an enemy truck and fighting
position. There were no reports of injuries to non-combatants, said the
Meanwhile, the NATO force said their soldiers had abandoned a military post
attacked by Taliban militants three days. Nine ISAF soldiers were killed in
