KAFCO says airplane-fuel-pipeline damage won''t affect airport fuel demands

KUWAIT, Aug 26 (KUNA) -- The damage caused by a contractor wrongly digging close to a fuel pipeline in East Ahmadi area would have no appreciable effect on providing airplanes at Kuwait airport with required fuel, Kuwait Aviation Fuelling Company (KAFCO) said on Sunday KAFCO financial and administrative Director Abdullah Al-Ajmei told KUNA the fuel pipeline is connected to KAFCO's fuel storage area at Kuwait International Airport from locations at al-Ahmadi and Shua'aiba refineries.
He explained that KAFCO had taken all precautionary measures and necessary procedures usually followed in such an emergency and that crews were working to repair the pipeline and bring it back to normal operability.
KAFCO specialises in the supply of A-1 fuel (ATK) to all aircraft that use Kuwait International Airport. Formed on July 1st, 1963 KAFCO operates as an independent organization under the Board of four Directors.
