Al-Kharafi group launches "Star Taxi" in Syria

By Oqab Al-Rishidi (with photos) DAMASCUS, May 20 (KUNA) -- Al-Kharafi Investment Group launched a project in Syria, a taxi service named "Star Taxi" providing modern transportation services with full insurance to passengers.
The project, in its first stages, is due to complete in three years, with a cost of 10 million dollars where 500 cars will service in various parts of Syria.
Star Taxi drivers wear a unified official uniform, and speak English. The service operates on streets or through the call service number 9207.
In a poll carried out by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) in Damascus on the new business, a Syrian lady expressed her satisfaction at the star taxi service.
"It is a modern and useful project... Despite the high rates in comparison to public transport, the taxi service is better and safe," she said.
Another Syrian citizen told KUNA that Star Taxi is a new and positive step towards development, but the company should seriously look into the high prices it set, taking into consideration the Syrian lifestyle. (end) om.asa KUNA 201401 May 07NNNN
