Prodi submits cabinet line-up to president
ROME, May 17 (KUNA) -- The new Italian prime minister Romani Prodi
submitted on Wednesday the line-up of his cabinet to President Giorgio
Napolitano, only one day after he was tasked with the mission.
The leader of the left-center coalition submitted to the president, during
a meeting at noon time (local time), the list of his 25-seat cabinet,
including two deputies, six women and eight ministries of state without
portfolios, ahead of a scheduled swearing-in ceremony due later on Wednesday.
Prodi's government, the 59th to be formed since declaration of the republic
60 years ago, comprises three former prime ministers.
Speaking to jounralists after the meeting with the president, Prodi said he
presented to the top leader a harmonous team out of keenness that it may serve
the whole five-year term
