Pakistani premier begins 5-day visit to Saudi Arabia on Sunday
ISLAMABAD, May 22 (KUNA) -- The Prime Minister of Pakistan Mir Zafarullah
Khan Jamali will pay an official visit to Saudi Arabia from May 23 to 27 May
for talks to consolidate bilateral ties as well and review regional situation
in South Asia, the Gulf, Middle East, Iraq and Iraq and Afghanistan.
During his stay in the kingdom, the Prime Minister will call on King Fahd
bin Abbul Aziz and hold substantive talks with the Saudi Crown Prince and
First Deputy Premier, Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, a Foreign Office
statement said.
The Prime Minister is also expected to call on Second Deputy Prime Minister
and defense Minister, Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, who is recuperating in
hospital in Jaddah after recent surgery and meet with interior Minister Prince
Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, the statement said.
The Prime Ministers discussions with Crown Prince Abdullah bin Aziz and
expected to cover steps to consolidate brotherly bilateral ties between Sauadi
Arabia and Pakistan in different fields.
Discussion will also cover the regional situation in South Asia, the Gulf,
Middle East, Iraq and Iraq and Afghanistan. Both leaders are also expected to
review ways and means to tackle the current challengers confronting the
Islamic Ummah.
The Prime Minister will also perform Umrah and will visit Madinah during
his stay in Saudi Arabia.
This will be the Prime Ministers third official visit to Saudi Arabia
since assuming office late 2003. Crown Prince Abdullah bin Aziz, visited
Islamabad on 18-19 October 2003. (end)
