Warning against consuming locust - Health Ministry
KUWAIT, Dec 14 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Health warned Sunday against
eating locust because the insects have been sprayed with insecticides and
eating them would result in serious health problems.
Dr. Abdelrahim Alzaid of the Health Ministry said the Ministry was taking
steps to prevent the sale of cooked locust for human consumption.
He said it was illegal to sell locust as food aside from the fact that such
food posed serious public health hazards.
In a similar warning to the public, the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health
has also warned against eating locust. (end)
