Jamali arrives Jeddah on official visit
JEDDAH, Aug 21 (KUNA) -- Prime Minister of Pakistan Mir Zafarullah Khan
Jamali and his accompanying delegation arrived Jeddah Thursday for an official
five-day visit to the Kingdom.
In remarks upon arrival, Jamali expressed pleasure on his second visit to
Saudi and said he would hold talks on all issues of mutual interest.
He added he would apprise Saudi leadership of the latest developments in
Southern Asia praising Saudi's interest and support to Pakistan in its efforts
at peace.
Jamali also hailed Saudi's support of the Kashmiri people in their strife
to restore their rights and said Pakistan-Saudi ties are strong and the talks
with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and other senior officials would,
accordingly, yield significant results.
The official is expected to start his visit by performing Umrah and
visiting Prophet Mohammad's Mosque in Madinah before he starts his talks in
Jeddah Saturday.
An official from Pakistan's Consulate in Saudi told KUNA today the talks
would focus on sending Pakistan forces to help maintain peace in Iraq and the
situation in Afghanistan. They would also deal with developments in Southeast
Asia, the Middle East, Pakistan-India relations, the situation in the Gulf
region and the international campaign against terror.
This is the Pakistan Prime Minister's second visit to Saudi. The first
visit was late last December.(end)
