Amoon system can fend off enemy missiles
By Hamid Al-Ansari
KUWAIT, April 3 (KUNA) -- The Amoon Air Defense System in Kuwait is capable
of fending off enemy missiles that come at low and very low altitudes,
official responsible for the Amoon system Lieutenant Colonel Abdallah
Al-Basheer said Thursday.
Al-Basheer told reporters the system differs from the Patriot system which
handles aircraft, high altitude and medium altitude missiles. The Kuwaiti
Armed Forces conducted many drills to ascertain the system is functional and
effective.
The Kuwaiti Air Defense system includes different bodies and systems to
address all types of danger to the state's security and stability, he said.
Al-Basheer added all networks and defense systems are interconnected. This
leaves no room for error and lends flexibility and adjustment capability to
deal with the targets efficiently and accurately. (more)
