Council endorses Kabul Declaration on Good-Neighborly Relations
UNITED NATIONS, Dec 24 (KUNA) - The Security Council on Tuesday welcomed
and endorsed the Kabul Declaration on Good-Neighborly Relations signed by the
Transitional Administration of Afghanistan and its neighbors.
The Declaration was signed in Kabul on December 22 with the governments of
China, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The council called on all other states to respect the Declaration and to
support the implementation of its provisions.
The council also requested the Secretary-General to report to it on the
implementation of the Declaration in the context of his regular reporting on
Afghanistan, including information provided by the signatories.
The Secretary-General also welcomed the agreement on Monday. (end)
