GAZA, Feb 23 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Namaa Charity, affiliated with Social Reform Society (SRS), announced the implementation of its "Iftar for the Fasting" project in Gaza through the "Gaza Takiyas" (charitable soup kitchens) initiative.
Namaa's "Iftar for the Fasting" project via "Gaza Takiyas" initiative has benefited over 10,000 fasters in Gaza's humanitarian crisis over Ramadan's past three days, confronting rising needs, food shortages, and resource lacks, as stated in Namaa's Executive Vice President Abdulaziz Al-Kandari's Monday press statement.
Field teams handled daily distributions via over 10 takiyas in the most affected areas, he said.
The charity aims to operate more than 60 takiyas throughout Ramadan as part of a relief plan to reach the widest possible segment of impacted families, he added.
Gaza's humanitarian situation reflects families' suffering from loss of income and rising needs, with high demand for takiyas confirming the crisis' scale and the urgency for increased support, Al-Kandari noted.
"Gaza Takiyas" project provides daily fresh iftar meals that preserve fasters' dignity and ease harsh living conditions, he pointed out.
Number of beneficiaries in the past three days exceeded 10,000, highlighting the real on-ground needs, Al-Kandari mentioned.
He urged philanthropists and supporters to continue backing iftar projects in Gaza, emphasizing that their contributions directly secure meals for deprived families and send messages of solidarity and hope amid bad circumstances.
Al-Kandari reiterated the charity's commitment to its humanitarian mission, utilizing its resources to aid the most vulnerable. (end)
