US, UK vow continued efforts to end Russia-Ukraine war

WASHINGTON, Feb 20 (KUNA) -- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper on Friday vowed to carry on joint diplomatic efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war.
This came during a meeting between both sides in Washington, the US Department of State said in a press release.
"Secretary of State Marco Rubio met today with UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper. The Secretary and Foreign Secretary committed to continue diplomatic efforts to bring the Russia-Ukraine war to an end through a negotiated settlement," it added.
They stressed the importance of ongoing cooperation in Syria and the implementation of Phase Two of US President Donald Trymp's Gaza peace plan, it said.
The two secretaries also underscored their shared focus on securing a humanitarian truce in Sudan, according to the press release. (end) amm.mt
