WASHINGTON, Feb 12 (KUNA) -- The US House of Representatives voted to revoke tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump on Canada in February 2025 in a rare move during Trump's tenure.
The draft resolution was passed late Wednesday evening by a majority of 219 lawmakers against 211.
On his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump warned of serious consequences for any republican that votes against the tariffs.
Trump had issued an executive order in February 2025 imposing additional tariffs of up to 25 percent on most Canadian exports to the United States, while reducing that rate to only 10 percent on energy exports. (end)
