KUWAIT, Feb 11 (KUNA) -- Kuwait embassies to the Swiss Federation, The Netherlands, Nigeria and Kuwait's consulate in Frankfort marked on Wednesday the 65th Independence Day and the 35th Liberation Day.
The celebrations were attended by a heap of senior officials, the heads and members of accredited diplomatic missions and more.
In The Netherlands, Kuwait's Charge d'Affairs First Secretary Ibrahim Al-Dai extended sincere congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the Kuwaiti government and people on this dear occasions.
This event embodies pride for Kuwait's history full of accomplishments and development path made in all domains, thanks to the Kuwaiti wise leadership, Al-Dai told KUNA in a statement.
Kuwait is marking its national days to show the deep-rooted ties with the Netherlands based on mutual respect, common principles and constructive dialogue, he added.
He pointed to bilateral relations between the two sides that have developed over the last years.
Kuwait appreciated the key role played by The Netherlands in backing international law and boosting the principles of justice and collaboration, he added.
The ceremony featured former Dutch prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende and other senior officials.
In Switzerland, Kuwait Embassy held a festival on this dear event which featured some senior officials, the heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions and more.
Kuwait's Charge d'Affairs to the Switzerland Saleh Al-Thuwaikh said this ceremony shows pride and sovereignty as well as national unity.
Delivering a speech, Al-Thuwaikh extended sincere congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and the Kuwaiti government and people.
He lauded the well-seated historic relations between Kuwait and Switzerland founded on mutual respect and shared principles in peace and humanitarian action fields.
Al-Thuwaikh extolled the official visit paid by the President of the Swiss Federation Guy Parmelin to Kuwait earlier this month on marking the 60th diplomatic relations between the two sides.
In Germany, Kuwait's Consulate in Frankfurt organized a high-level ceremony in which Kuwait's Consul Adel Al-Ghonaiman conveyed congratulations and greetings to His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince, and the Kuwaiti government and people.
Al-Ghonaiman commended the well-established ties between Kuwait and Germany which are eager to enhance their cooperation to serve the two state's interest.
In Nigeria, Kuwait's Ambassador Salem Al-Muzain held a reception during which he extended greetings and congratulations to His Highness the Amir and the Crown Prince, and the Kuwaiti government and people, wishing further progress and prosperity to Kuwait. (end)
