Saudi Arabia, Britain Announce 2029 joint cultural year

RIYADH, Feb 11 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UK Department for Culture, Media and Sport jointly announced on Wednesday the designation of 2029 as the Saudi-British Cultural Year.
The announcement was made on the sidelines of the visit of His Royal Highness Prince William, Prince of Wales and Heir to the Throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, to Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said the announcement reflects the strength of bilateral ties between the two kingdoms, rooted in more than a century of relations that have evolved into a multidimensional international partnership encompassing culture, education and innovation.
It underscores shared values and a mutual commitment to building a long-term strategic partnership.
SPA added that Saudi-British cultural cooperation has witnessed notable growth in recent years, becoming a key pillar of bilateral relations through joint initiatives in heritage preservation, visual arts, culinary arts, architecture and higher education.
The momentum in cultural exchange lays solid foundations for the 2029 Cultural Year, a year-long celebration of creative dialogue and shared heritage aimed at strengthening ties for future generations in both countries. (end) as.aai
