Lufthansa cancels multiple flights due to labor union strike

BERLIN, Feb 11 (KUNA) -- German aviation group "Lufthansa," announced on Wednesday the cancellation of multiple flights, not specifying the number, to and from German airports due to a strike called by two labor unions.
In a statement from its headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany the group said it expects to return to its normal flight schedule by Friday and urged passengers to contact them so they can transfer their bookings to other airlines.
According to the statement, Lufthansa intends to minimize the impact of the strike on passengers as much as possible.
The strike comes after the pilots' union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC), and the cabin crews' union UFO, called for a one-day walkout over a wage dispute. (end) anj.nso.res
