KSClub, Rospatent delegation discuss boosting IP cooperation
KUWAIT, Feb 11 (KUNA) -- Chairman of the Kuwait Science Club (KSClub) and the Higher Committee of the International Invention Fair in the Middle East (IIFME)'s Chairman Talal Al-Kharafi met with a delegation from the Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) to discuss enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise in intellectual property (IP).
In a press statement, the KSClub said the meeting was held on the sidelines of the third day of the 16th IIFME, currently being held under the patronage of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
Al-Kharafi highlighted the Russian participation in this year's edition, noting the visit by Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi to the Russian pavilion and his praise for the innovations showcased.
He added that the Club is ready to serve as an effective link to facilitate cooperation between participating entities and relevant bodies in Kuwait, in support of the scientific ecosystem.
For its part, the Russian delegation reviewed Rospatent's role in the digital transformation of IP systems, and its work as an International Searching and Preliminary Examining Authority under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
The delegation also highlighted the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS), including patent analytics capabilities, noting its cooperation with international partners in technical examination and research.
At the end of the meeting, the delegation extended an invitation to KSClub to participate in the 8th International Rospatent Conference "ERA IP," scheduled to be held in Moscow on April 21, focusing on digital transformation and developing IP ecosystems. (end)
