Palestinian VP rejects dealing with occupation measures

RAMALLAH, Feb 10 (KUNA) -- Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh said on Tuesday that the leadership has instructed all civil and security institutions to refrain from dealing with occupation measures, reject them, and adhere to laws in force in Palestine in accordance with international law and signed agreements.
In a press statement, Al-Sheikh called on the Palestinian people to remain steadfast and firmly reject occupation laws, particularly those recently approved by the occupation government, which contradict international law and agreements signed with the Palestine Liberation Organization.
He urged the international community to take a firm stance against occupation's far-right government and its escalating settlement and discriminatory policies.
Al-Sheikh's remarks came after the occupation's political and security cabinet approved decisions that undermine the legal and civil status of the West Bank, deepen settlement, annex parts of the territory, and grant broader powers to the Civil Administration affiliated with the occupation army in areas under Palestinian Authority control.
The Palestinian Authority had called on the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the UN Security Council to convene sessions to discuss the decisions. (end) nq.aai
