Kuwait, Feb 10 (KUNA) -- Kuwait-based Jazeera Airways announced on Tuesday that it achieved a net profit of KD 21.8 million (approximately USD 71 million) in 2025, marking a 113.7 percent increase compared to 2024, with earnings per share reaching 99.05 fils.
Chairman of the Board Marwan Boodai said in a press statement that the company's operating revenues amounted to KD 218.1 million (approx. USD 710.9 million) in 2025, while operating profits reached KD 26 million (approx. USD 84.7 million), up 50.7 percent year-on-year.
Boodai added that, in light of the company's strong financial position and confidence in its future outlook, the Board of Directors recommended the distribution of cash dividends of 85 fils per share, subject to shareholders' approval.
He explained that the company recorded a net loss of KD 1.2 million (around USD 3.9 million) in the fourth quarter of 2025, representing a decrease of 69.7 percent, while operating revenues during the quarter rose by 3.3 percent to KD 46.5 million (approximately USD 151.5 million).
Operating profits for the fourth quarter of 2025 stood at KD 0.5 million (around USD 1.6 million), reflecting a decline of 85.9 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
Boodai noted that the number of passengers during the fourth quarter of 2025 reached 1.3 million, an increase of 4.9 percent year-on-year, while total passenger numbers for 2025 rose to five million, up 2.2 percent.
He stated that Jazeera Airways delivered strong operational performance in 2025 driven by disciplined execution, measured expansion of its route network, and continued focus on safety, effectiveness and efficiency.
The airline operated 37,351 flights during the year and maintained its position as the most active airline at Kuwait International Airport for the fourth consecutive year.
Founded in 2004, Jazeera Airways was listed on Boursa Kuwait in 2008 and operates low-cost commercial and air cargo services from Terminal 5 at Kuwait International Airport. (end)
