KHARTOUM, Feb 10 (KUNA) -- Patients Helping Fund Society constructed a heath center in Tawila locality, North Darfur State, as part of a network of ten facilities providing services to displaced persons fleeing the city of El Fasher, in response to growing medical needs in the area.
Director of the Fund's office in North Darfur, Dafallah Al-Arki, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Tuesday that the intervention aims to support children, women and the elderly amid complex humanitarian conditions and mounting pressure on health facilities.
He noted that the center, implemented in partnership with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), provides essential health and nutrition services that help ease the suffering of displaced families and enhance their access to necessary care.
Al-Arki affirmed the Fund's commitment to continuing its support for health response efforts in displacement areas and to addressing service gaps to mitigate the impact of the crisis on the most vulnerable groups.
He added that the Fund's field clinic has been providing health services to displaced persons from El Fasher at Al-Afad camp in Northern State since mid-November, receiving between 70 and 100 patients daily. (end)
