Kuwait sets Feb 14 as new date for sports day - official

KUWAIT, Feb 9 (KUNA) -- Kuwait has set February 14 as the new date for the national sports day, a week after it was postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions, Kuwait Sports for All federation chief Faisal Al-Maqseed said on Monday.
The annual event was rescheduled in a bid to ensure the "safety" of participants, in addition to an effort aiming to preserve public property, the official said in a statement.
The yearly gathering is a community-focused initiative that promotes the significance of physical activity towards overall wellbeing, added the official, promising participants that the event would pan out in a seamless and enjoyable manner. (end) sad.nam
