Kuwait condemns attacks on civilian facilities, aid convoys in Sudan

KUWAIT, Feb 8 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Sunday Kuwait's strong condemnation and denunciation of the attacks targeting civilian facilities and humanitarian aid convoys in the North and South Kordofan states of Sudan, which resulted in a number of civilian casualties.
The Ministry affirmed Kuwait's categorical rejection of such acts, stressing that attacks resulting in civilian casualties and targeting civilians, humanitarian workers and relief facilities constitute a violation of international humanitarian law and undermine protection efforts.
The State of Kuwait reiterated its firm stance in support of Sudan's unity, sovereignty and stability, as well as regional and international efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution that achieves security and stability in the country. (end) ae.ahm
