RIYADH, Feb 6 (KUNA) -- Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) welcomed the round of talks held Friday between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In a press statement, Jasem Al-Budaiwi commended the Sultanate of Oman for hosting the discussions, noting that the move reflects Oman's constructive role in facilitating regional and international dialogue and understanding.
Al-Budaiwi expressed the Council's hope that these consultations would yield positive outcomes, contributing to regional de-escalation and reinforcing the foundations of security and stability.
He emphasized that such progress serves mutual interests and fosters an environment conducive to cooperation and development.
Furthermore, the GCC chief lauded the ongoing and valuable efforts of the Sultanate of Oman, in coordination with regional and international partners, to bridge perspectives and create an atmosphere for constructive dialogue.
He reiterated the GCC's steadfast commitment to maintaining regional security and supporting the prosperity of its people. (end)
