Iranian television: US-Iran talks in Muscat conclude

TEHRAN, Feb 6 (KUNA) -- Iranian state television confirmed the conclusion of the indirect talks between Iran and the United States that began in the Omani capital Muscat earlier Friday.
The television reported that it is not yet known whether this round of indirect talks with the United States will continue today or not.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in a statement that the negotiations were a good start, adding that views and concerned from both sides were exchanged in a good atmosphere.
He explained that the continuation of the talks depends on consultations from both Washington and Tehran to decide on how to proceed and when it will take place.
Oman renewed its commitment to continue supporting dialogue in an effort to reach a mutual solution between Iran and the US.
Oman News Agency (ONA) quoted Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi as expressing his deep appreciation for the efforts of regional countries supporting these talks.
Representing Iran in the talks was Minister Araghchi, while US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and American President's son-in-law Jared Kushner represented Washington.
Talks between the US and Iran began on Friday in Muscat, aimed at reaching an agreement and to facilitate an understanding between both sides. (end) mw.sas
