KUWAIT, Feb 6 (KUNA) -- The Embassies of the State of Kuwait in the Kingdom of Morocco and the Russian Federation, along with its Consulates General in Shanghai and Istanbul, celebrated the 65th anniversary of Kuwait's National Day and the 35th anniversary of Liberation Day.
The celebrations were attended by ministers, heads of accredited diplomatic missions, officials, journalists, and representatives of civil society.
In Morocco, Chargأ© d'Affaires at the Embassy of the State of Kuwait, Counselor Saud Al-Mutairi, on Friday extended sincere congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the government and the people of Kuwait on this dear national occasion.
Al-Mutairi stressed in his welcoming address the importance of the historic and fraternal relations binding the two brotherly countries and peoples of Kuwait and Morocco under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and King of Morocco Mohammed VI.
For her part, Guest of Honor and representative of the Moroccan government, Minister of Economy and Finance Nadia Alaoui, congratulated the State of Kuwait, its leadership and people on the national celebrations, praising the strong bilateral relations.
In Russia, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Russian Federation Dr. Rashed Al-Adwani expressed, in a statement to KUNA, his sincere congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the government, and the people of Kuwait on the national holidays.
Al-Adwani said the national celebrations embody the unity, cohesion, and loyalty of the Kuwaiti people to their homeland and wise leadership, as they reinforce the values of belonging and loyalty passed down through generations.
He highlighted the deep relations between Kuwait and the Russian Federation, and the distinguished historical ties linking the two countries across political, economic, and cultural fields, serving as a model for constructive cooperation.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin affirmed, in a similar statement to KUNA during the celebration, that the bilateral relations are based mutual respect and understanding, praising the level of political and diplomatic coordination between the two countries in regional and international forums.
He also commended Kuwait's balanced and constructive role in supporting international stability and dialogue, expressing Russia's aspiration to further enhance cooperation in foreign relations and exchange views on issues of common interest.
The celebration was attended by Minister of the Moscow City Government and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations Sergey Cheremin, who told KUNA that Kuwaiti-Russian cooperation holds promising prospects, particularly in economic and investment sectors, as well as energy, oil and gas, advanced technology, education, innovation, and knowledge exchange.
He affirmed the Russian side's interest in expanding partnerships with Kuwait and strengthening cooperation between economic, educational, and research institutions in both countries to achieve sustainable development and mutual interests.
Meanwhile, Member of the Expert Council and Advisor at the Russian Center for Political Studies Dr. Elena Suponina told KUNA that Kuwait's national holidays represent a cherished national occasion reflecting a state that has succeeded in balancing preservation of identity with cultural openness, noting that Kuwait's experience enjoys wide appreciation at regional and international levels.
She praised the pivotal role played by Kuwaiti women in supporting culture, preserving heritage, and promoting civilizational dialogue, noting that women in Kuwait have become an active and influential element in the cultural and social landscape.
Suponina said her recent visits to Kuwait enabled her to closely observe prominent Kuwaiti female figures, foremost among them Sheikha Hessa Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Director General of the Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah, which she founded with her late husband Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, contributing significantly to the preservation and global promotion of Islamic heritage.
She added that cultural cooperation between Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah and leading international institutions, including the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, reflects Kuwait's deep vision in protecting human heritage and underscores the pioneering role of Kuwaiti women in this field.
She also referred to her participation in cultural events at Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah, including a lecture she delivered jointly with Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan Al-Qasimi, President and Director of the Sharjah Art Foundation.
She noted that such activities highlight the importance of Arab women's leadership in cultural and artistic work and in strengthening intercultural dialogue.
Suponina concluded by extending her sincere congratulations to the Kuwaiti leadership and people on the national holidays, wishing Kuwait continued progress and prosperity and commending the prominent role of Kuwaiti women in the national development process.
From Istanbul, Consul General of the State of Kuwait Mohammed Al-Sharji extended, in a statement to KUNA, his warmest congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and the people of Kuwait.
He affirmed during the celebration, attended by officials, ambassadors, journalists, and invited guests, the depth and strength of relations between Kuwait and Tأ¼rkiye across various fields, praising the authenticity and solidity of the historic and fraternal ties between the two countries and peoples.
In Shanghai, Consul General of the State of Kuwait Anas Al-Maarafi hosted a reception attended by representatives of the Shanghai municipal government, the Dean of the Consular Corps, accredited consuls general, economic attachأ©s, commercial offices, and international and local investment companies.
Al-Maarafi extended, expressed to KUNA on this occasion, his warmest congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabahand the people of Kuwait.
He expressed pride in celebrating the national occasions in light of the progress and prosperity achieved by Kuwait under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir.
Al-Maarafi noted that Kuwait marks this year the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China, describing them as a successful model of cooperation based on trust, mutual respect, and shared interests, supported by the leadership of both friendly countries.
