ISTANBUL, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his US counterpart Donald Trump discussed on Tuesday the latest developments in Syria and the Gaza Board of Peace.
In a phone call, the two leaders addressed bilateral trade relations-specifically within the defense industry-as well as regional and global developments.
Erdogan affirmed that Turkiye would continue taking steps to enhance cooperation with the US and advance relations in all areas of mutual interest.
He emphasized that Ankara attaches great importance to the full implementation of the ceasefire and integration agreement in neighboring Syria and is closely monitoring the process in coordination with US and Syrian authorities.
Additionally, Erdogan expressed his hope that the Gaza Board of Peace will achieve fruitful results. He stated his belief that ending the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and rebuilding the enclave will pave the way for lasting regional peace. (end)
