India Energy Week calls for investment, partnerships, action in global energy transition

NEW DELHI, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- India Energy Week 2026 that kicked off on Tuesday in western Indian state of Goa, called for investment, partnerships and action in global energy transition.
A statement from the Indian Petroleum and Natural Gas said that Indian Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri said in his keynote address at the event with global participation that energy transition must be backed by sustained investment to ensure security, affordability and sustainability.
Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the UAE Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber also stressed the importance of sustainable investment in energy sector.
Both the officials reiterated the global conclave's role as a premier international platform for translating energy dialogue into action, innovation into implementation, and ambition into outcomes.
Puri highlighted India's steady and resilient progress towards energy security, self-reliance and climate justice.
He underscored that India Energy Week has evolved into a trusted global forum, bringing together policymakers, producers, consumers, technology providers and investors to navigate a period of unprecedented transition and volatility in the global energy system.
The Indian Minister also stressed that the global energy transition is fundamentally about energy addition rather than replacement.
He appealed for sustained investment across oil, gas, biofuels, green hydrogen, LNG and clean cooking fuels.
Addressing the gathering Ahmed Al Jaber, who is also the Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC, underlined that global energy demand is entering a phase of transformation at scale, which is driven by emerging markets, digitalisation and the integration of diverse energy systems. The UAE minister said that India is at the heart of these megatrends and will be a decisive driver of global energy demand in the decades ahead.
Al Jaber stated that underinvestment is the greatest risk facing the global energy system and called for balanced investment across all forms of energy to ensure security, affordability and sustainability.
He reaffirmed UAE's commitment to long-term partnerships that deliver certainty, resilience and shared value in a rapidly evolving global energy landscape.
India Energy Week 2026 is underway from 27-30 January in Goa bringing together thousands of policymakers, business leaders, innovators and investors from more than 120 countries to advance pragmatic solutions for a secure, sustainable and affordable energy ecosystem. (end) atk.ibi
