KUWAIT, Jan 19 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's national handball team secured victory over the UAE team (27-22) on Monday in the 22nd Asian Men's Handball Championship (Kuwait 2026), which serves as a qualifier for the 2027 World Championship in Germany.
At the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah Sports Hall Complex, the Kuwaiti team continued their strong performances, recording the third consecutive win in the tournament, which runs until January 29. Kuwaiti goalkeeper Hassan Safar was named man of the match.
With this victory, Kuwait tops Group Three with six points from three wins against India, Hong Kong, and the UAE, awaiting the remaining round results today and tomorrow to determine their opponent in the knockout stages.
In other matches today, Saudi Arabia defeated Australia 46-24, while Hong Kong beat India 36-30. (end)
