CAIRO, Jan 19 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Bader Abdelati underscored the importance of the role played by the Palestinian National Committee for Gaza Administration in managing the daily affairs of the Gaza Strip's residents.
According to a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the remarks came during a meeting on Monday between Minister Abdelati and the head of the National Committee for Gaza Administration, Dr. Ali Shath.
The minister expressed full support for the committee's head and members amid their responsibilities during this critical period.
He welcomed the committee's formation and the expertise of its members, which he said contributes to ensuring institutional efficiency and administrative stability during the transitional phase.
Egypt will continue to provide full support to the Palestinian people during this sensitive stage.
Abdelati emphasized the need to complete the necessary steps to implement the remaining aspects of the second phase of US President Donald Trump's plan, including the formation and deployment of an international stabilization force, the continued delivery of humanitarian aid, and preparation for early recovery and reconstruction.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining Palestinian territorial unity, ensuring administrative and geographic linkage between Gaza and the West Bank, and achieving a comprehensive and just resolution of the Palestinian issue, while firmly rejecting any attempts to divide Gaza.
Dr. Shath expressed deep appreciation to Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi and the Egyptian government for their supportive stance on the Palestinian cause and for the political and humanitarian assistance provided during this pivotal phase. (end)
