KUWAIT, Jan 12 (KUNA) -- Undersecretary of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Eng. Suleiman Al-Suwailem, affirmed the ministry's commitment, in cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Interior, to caring for inmates of correctional and rehabilitation centers and contributing to their reintegration into society.
This came in a press statement by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs on Monday following the inauguration of the "My Craft.. By My Hands (5)" exhibition at the Capital Mall Complex.
Al-Suwailem added that the exhibition highlights the ministry's experience in rehabilitating inmates through its vocational training programs and rehabilitation activities, according to an approved plan designed to achieve the objectives for which these programs were established.
He noted that engaging inmates in producing handicrafts and artisanal products is an innovative idea to utilize their energy and creativity in productive ways, enhancing their skills and capabilities.
The success of this approach is reflected in the fact that the exhibition has reached its fifth edition this year.
Al-Suwailem expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Directorate of Correctional Institutions, for its significant efforts and prominent role in serving the inmates in cooperation with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs over the past years. (end)
