OIC condemns Israeli occupation attack on Birzeit University in West Bank

JEDDAH, Jan 7 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation strongly condemned on Wednesday the Israeli occupation military attack on Birzeit University in the West Bank that resulted in injuries.
The OIC said in a statement that this deliberate attack is a blatant violation to international laws and conventions, and an extension to the continued attacks against the Palestinian education system.
It reiterated its call to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and concerned international authorities to uphold their responsibilities and take measures to monitor and document these violations.
On Tuesday, the Palestinian Health Authority affirmed that 11 students were injured in the Israeli occupation attack on Birzeit University, explaining they stormed the campus during official working hours and coincided with an event organized by the student blocs in solidarity with the prisoners in the occupation prisons.
