U.S. Pres. hails Venezuela operation as "so brilliant"

WASHINGTON, Jan 6 (KUNA) -- U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the U.S. has made a so brilliant military operation in Venezuela, which led to the capture of President Nicolas Maduro.
"Our guys are jumping out of helicopters. You're not protected. They were but it was so brilliant, the electricity for almost the entire country was turned off. That's when they knew there was a problem," Trump said in a speech addressing the House of Representatives.
"There was no electricity. Caracas, there's no electricity. The only people with lights were the people that had candles. Was just off, so we sort of got him a little by surprise. But it was a brilliant it was brilliant tactic," he added.
Lashing out at the deposed president, Trump said, "He's a violent guy. He gets up there and he tries to imitate my dance a little bit, but he's a violent guy, and he's killed millions of people. He's tortured. They have a torture chamber in the middle of Caracas that they're closing up, but he's tortured people." Boasting about U.S. weapons, he said, "Nobody has the quality of our weapons. The problem is we don't produce them fast enough. We're going to start producing them much faster. We're going to be very tough on the companies. We have the best weapons of the world, but it takes too long to get them, including allies." (end) rsr.mt
