Egypt, Saudi Arabia stress peaceful solutions, unity of states amid crises

CAIRO, Jan 5 (KUNA) -- Egypt and Saudi Arabia on Monday emphasized the need for peaceful solutions to regional crises in a way that preserves the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, particularly in Sudan, Yemen, Somalia and the Gaza Strip.
Egyptian presidential spokesman Ambassador Mohammad Al-Shenawy said in a statement that the remarks came during a meeting between President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, which addressed a number of regional issues of mutual concern and discussed the Saudi-Egyptian relations.
Al-Sisi reaffirming Egypt's keenness to strengthen cooperation with Saudi Arabia across various fields, and welcomed efforts to organize the first meeting of the Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council, stressing the importance of intensifying coordination and consultation between the two countries.
For his part, Prince Faisal bin Farhan reaffirmed the country's commitment to further bolster the Saudi-Egyptian ties, and continuing to enhance political coordination between both countries.
The statement added that the meeting reviewed several regional issues of mutual concerns, underscoring a shared stance on the need to adopt peaceful solutions to existing crises to safeguard state unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity. President Al-Sisi commended Saudi Arabia's efforts to host a comprehensive conference bringing together South Yemeni parties for dialogue on the southern Issue. (end) aff.sar
